This Privacy Policy describes Our policies and procedures on the collection, use, and disclosure of Your information when You use the Ameer Taxi Service (the "Service"). It explains Your privacy rights and how the law protects You.

Words with capitalized initial letters have meanings defined under the following conditions. These definitions apply whether the terms appear in singular or in plural.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:

  • Account means a unique account created for You to access the Service or parts of the Service.

  • Device means any device that can access the Service, such as a computer, smartphone, or digital tablet.
  • Driver refers to an individual using the Application to provide taxi services to Passengers.
  • Passenger refers to an individual using the Application to request and receive taxi services.
  • Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
  • Service refers to the Application.
  • Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes data on behalf of the Company. This includes third-party companies or individuals employed to facilitate, provide, or analyze the Service.
  • Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (e.g., the duration of a page visit).
  • You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company or legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service.

Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

Types of Data Collected

Personal Data

While using Our Service, We may ask You to provide certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify You. This may include, but is not limited to:

  • First name and last name
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Driver’s license and vehicle information (for Drivers)
  • Profile photo (optional)

Location Data

To provide taxi services, We may collect and process information about Your location. This includes:

  • Real-time geographic location of Your Device (for both Drivers and Passengers)
  • Pick-up and drop-off locations
  • Travel routes and destinations

You can enable or disable location services at any time through Your Device settings. However, disabling location services may limit the functionality of the Service.

Usage Data

Usage Data is collected automatically and may include:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited, time and date of visits, and time spent on pages
  • Unique device identifiers and diagnostic data
  • Information about Your mobile device (e.g., device ID, operating system, mobile browser type)

Information Collected During Rides

During a ride, We may collect:

  • Trip details (e.g., start time, end time, distance traveled)
  • Feedback and ratings provided by Drivers and Passengers
  • Audio, video, or photo recordings (if applicable and with Your consent)

Payment Processing

We do not collect or store Your payment information directly. Payments for rides are processed through the following methods:

  1. Zain Cash: A third-party payment provider in Iraq. When You use Zain Cash, Your payment information is processed by Zain Cash in accordance with their privacy policy. We do not have access to or control over this information.
  2. Ameer Taxi Gift Cards: Local gift cards issued by Ameer Taxi. These gift cards are used to pay for rides, and We only collect information necessary to validate and process the gift card transactions.

Use of Your Personal Data

The Company may use Personal Data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the Service, including monitoring usage and facilitating rides.
  • To manage Your Account, including registration and access to Service features.
  • For ride facilitation, including matching Drivers with Passengers, calculating fares, and processing payments through Zain Cash or gift cards.
  • To improve the Service, including analyzing usage trends and optimizing routes.
  • To communicate with You, including sending ride updates, security alerts, and promotional offers.
  • For safety and security, including verifying identities, monitoring rides, and addressing incidents.
  • For legal and regulatory compliance, including responding to lawful requests from authorities.

Sharing Your Personal Data

We may share Your Personal Data in the following situations:

  • With Drivers/Passengers: To facilitate rides, We share necessary information (e.g., names, locations, and contact details) between Drivers and Passengers.
  • With Service Providers: To monitor and analyze Service usage, facilitate payments through Zain Cash, and provide customer support.
  • For business transfers: In connection with mergers, acquisitions, or asset sales.
  • With Affiliates and business partners: To offer products, services, or promotions.
  • With law enforcement: When required by law or to protect the safety of Users.

Retention of Your Personal Data

We retain Your Personal Data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. This includes complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements.

Transfer of Your Personal Data

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside Your jurisdiction. By using the Service, You consent to such transfers.

Deleting Your Personal Data

You have the right to delete or request assistance in deleting Your Personal Data. You can update or delete Your information through Your Account settings or by contacting Us. Note that We may retain certain information for legal or regulatory purposes.

Security of Your Personal Data

We use commercially acceptable measures to protect Your Personal Data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children. If You are a parent or guardian and believe Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us.
